One of my dear friends, Shan, gifted me a golden pothos ivy plant on my 30th birthday. That sweet gift began my new found love for growing plants. Shan passed away less than a year later from an aggressive form of breast cancer, right before her 31st birthday. I inherited another pothos plant from her when she passed. Shan was so vibrant and truly lived her life to the fullest. She traveled the world and had recently quit her corporate job and started her own small business prior to her diagnosis. She inspired me to pursue my dreams of launching my interior design business and to live my life with passion and purpose. So the name Ivy is in remembrance of her life. I still have my two ivy plants that I refer to as my ‘Shan plants’. I have propagated the original plants to create several more plants that I gift to friends, family and clients.
